Dr. Brooke Barr, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC, is a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Certified Clinical Homeopath, and the founder and proud owner of Purely Pediatric Wellness.

In 2025, Brooke followed what she believes was a calling from Christ to step out in faith and open Purely Pediatric Wellness. What began as a dream to create something different in pediatric healthcare became a practice built around a simple belief: families deserve to feel heard, known, supported, and deeply cared for.

From the very beginning, Brooke has poured her heart into creating PPW as more than a pediatric clinic. Every detail has been intentionally designed with families in mind—a warm and welcoming place where connection matters, parents are valued as partners, and children receive thoughtful, high-quality care that considers the whole child. Her Christian faith is at the heart of the way she leads, serves, and cares for families, and she considers it a tremendous privilege to walk alongside parents as they raise their children.

Brooke was born and raised in Canton, Texas. After graduation, she moved to Dallas, where she married her high school sweetheart, Garrett. Together, they are raising their two spirited boys, Paxton and Wells, who are some of her greatest joys and continually shape the way she practices medicine. Motherhood has given Brooke an even deeper understanding of what it means to sit on the other side of the exam room—to worry, advocate, ask questions, and simply want someone to truly listen and care for your child.

Brooke earned her Associate of Science from Dallas Baptist University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baylor University’s Louise Herrington School of Nursing. She went on to earn both her Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice from the Medical University of South Carolina. Her love for pediatrics began in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where she first felt a strong calling to care for children and their families during some of their most vulnerable moments.

Before founding Purely Pediatric Wellness, Brooke dedicated many years to integrative pediatric care at Healthy Kids Pediatrics and Natural Choice Pediatrics. Those experiences helped shape the provider she is today and further strengthened her passion for approaching children's health with curiosity, compassion, and a desire to understand the why behind their symptoms.

As an integrative pediatric nurse practitioner, Brooke cares for children from infancy through young adulthood. Her approach thoughtfully blends conventional pediatric medicine with integrative and whole-child care. She is passionate about prevention, nutrition, gut health, lifestyle, development, chronic concerns, and helping families look beyond simply managing symptoms when there may be more to the story. Above all, she wants parents to leave their child's appointment feeling heard, educated, empowered, and confident in the plan moving forward.

Education is another important part of Brooke's calling. In addition to clinical practice, she has served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor University School of Nursing and Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, helping mentor and prepare the next generation of nurses and nurse practitioners.

Outside of PPW, Brooke's favorite role will always be being a wife and mom. She loves cooking, discovering local restaurants, traveling, spending time with her boys, gathering with family and friends, and loving on her Boxer, Rosie. Brooke and her family are members of Mosaic Church in Richardson, and their faith in Jesus remains the foundation of their home, family, and the work Brooke feels called to do.

For Brooke, Purely Pediatric Wellness is much more than a practice—it is an answered prayer and an opportunity to serve families through work she genuinely loves. She is incredibly grateful for every parent who trusts PPW with their child and looks forward to welcoming families into a place where they can feel known, supported, and cared for.
