Dr. Brooke Barr, DNP APRN, CPNP-PC, Owner

Dr. Brooke Barr, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, and Certified Clinical Homeopath is the proud owner of Purely Pediatric Wellness, a dream she has poured her heart and soul into from the very beginning. Every detail of this practice was intentionally created with families in mind—offering a safe space where children receive the highest quality care in a warm, integrative, and nurturing environment. 

Brooke was born and raised in Canton, Texas. After graduation, she moved to Dallas, where she married her high school sweetheart, Garrett. Together they are raising two young boys, Paxton and Wells, who inspire her daily both as a mother and as a pediatric provider. Becoming a mom has deepened her empathy and strengthened her commitment to care for families with encouragement, compassion, and understanding.

She earned her Associate of Science from Dallas Baptist University, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baylor University’s Louise Herrington School of Nursing, and both her Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice from the Medical University of South Carolina. Her passion for pediatrics began in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where she felt a strong calling to care for the most vulnerable little ones. 

In addition to clinical practice, Brooke serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor University School of Nursing and Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, mentoring and shaping the next generation of nurses and nurse practitioners.

As a pediatric provider, she specializes in the care of newborns, infants, toddlers, adolescents, and young adults. Her approach blends conventional medicine with holistic, whole-child care—supporting families through prevention, wellness, chronic illness management, and lifestyle education. She is passionate about helping families make healthy choices and empowering parents with both traditional and integrative tools to help their children thrive. Brooke dedicated many years as an Integrative Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Healthy Kids Pediatrics and Natural Choice Pediatrics, experiences she will always cherish. 

Outside of healthcare, Brooke enjoys cooking, local cuisine, traveling, time with her boys, family and friends, and her beloved Boxer, Rosie. Brooke and her family attend Mosaic Church in Richardson.
